When drilling, the question arises: How many stones do you drill per year? For some pieces (e.g. 30-50 stones per year), "normal" equipment is sufficient. (Own drilling machine and the centering device below). Only for high drilling numbers do special drilling machines, adapters with water supply, and drills with mounting shanks pay off.
Therefore, for occasional drilling, much cheaper and also efficient - our suggestion: To be used with all common, mostly existing drill presses/pillar drills. No adapter necessary. You apply the drill softly and gently under water to create the drill hole. Then the drill is repeatedly "lifted" from the stone and drilling continues. (Always gentle application!) When you reach the middle, the stone is turned over and placed on a centering pin and drilled from the other side. The bore meets in the "middle". Simple - Easy.... The crucial thing is to drill from both sides to avoid breaking out on the back. For this purpose, I supply the "WASMER centering device" to avoid this. This allows you to drill with minimal risk. Speed from 3000 rpm.
